HOW CAN YOU GET INVOLVED?
The best way is to join the Contract Action Team (CAT).
This is the new name for what we previously called the Organizing Committee — the motor of the campaign that won our overwhelming 86% Yes vote in April and which has now pivoted to winning a strong contract, in support of our elected Negotiating Team.
The Contract Action Team meets weekly (sometimes biweekly) to assess our progress, hear committee reports, and plan organizing events and outreach to colleagues and the community. Each CAT team member serves as a point of contact and communication for a group of their colleagues. We volunteer for outreach activities such as phone banking, texting, and class visits.

The Outreach Committee builds relationships with our current and future allies, including legislators, our students, other KU employees, and local and Kansas unions.
Ad hoc committees form to plan special events (picnics, teach-ins, etc.); periodically survey our members; and participate in other UAKU activities, as they arise.
The Communications Committee sends email updates to members, keeps the UAKU web site up-to-date (as we’re doing now!), communicates to the press, and posts on social media.
